In 1897, Mr. J.M. Higgins helped his three sons start new businesses in Hopkinsville, with one becoming a pharmacist, one a liquor wholesaler, and the smartest son, an insurance agent. From 1897 to the present, Higgins purchased several local insurance agencies and has emerged as one of the largest Independent Agencies in Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee.
Currently, we have 20 employees and represent many of the world’s leading Property & Casualty and Health insurance companies. Higgins has also been recognized as an IIABA “Best Practices” agency, earned by only 224 in the United States, six in Kentucky, and six in Tennessee.
